Sourcing manager for assignment in Linköping

We offer our customers services in three business areas; interim logistics and procurement consultants, recruitment of buyers and logisticians, as well as development of our customers’ supply chain operations in terms of strategies, models, methods, processes, structure and competence.

On behalf of our customer we are looking for a Sourcing and Commodity buyer for a six months assignment in Linköping. This is a role where you will be a member of global purchasing department and report to the Purchase Director. The role

The Sourcing and Commodity buyer is responsible for the execution of the sourcing process for assigned commodities. You analyse, evaluate and execute current processes and practices, develop and execute the sourcing strategy with the objective of ensuring that targets are met within the overall framework of company objectives for assigned commodities. The position is responsible to coordinate and lead local sourcing for assigned commodities and regional/global sourcing within selected categories.

Main tasks:

  • Lead and coordinate assigned commodities and regional/global category sourcing efforts.
  • Develop and tune the sourcing process for direct material
  • Manage, develop and maintain supplier relationship/panel for assigned commodities
  • Define, monitor and track supplier performance
  • Monitor, track and execute sourcing activities and supplier panel development.
  • Design, negotiate and sign contract as per authorization matrix
  • Benchmark, analysis and follow-up of market and secure that the best conditions are reached for assigned commodities

Experience and competences

We think you have a post-secondary education in economics or purchasing or acquired equivalent knowledge through work experience. We also want you to have at least five years of work experience in purchasing. You need to have experience of working in a global environment, have good skills in negotiation, cost structure and breakdown. You have strong and proven knowledge and skills in negotiation and computer/Microsoft Office (especially Excel). You are also fluent in English, both written and oral.
